Sheerness Train Station
Sheerness on Sea railway station located in North Kent, it is a small station which has just two platforms within the station. It is just 51 miles away from London Victoria. It was first opened in 1883.
On the 26th February 1971 a train which was travelling from London struggled to stop when approaching the Sheerness Train Station and crashed in to the station. More information is available on the link below:

Sheerness Sailing Club
The Isle of Sheppey is the best sailing environment in the country, boasting some of the best sailing waters throughout the whole of the UK. Sheerness which is on the North coast and offers direct access to all states of tide.

The Sheerness sailing club hosts a unique sailing event which has been held since 1959, the event is the IOS round the Island race. The race is sailed in a clockwise direction around the Isle of Sheppey around 100 hundred craft enter for lots of great prizes, class trophies are given out to the runner ups.
Eastchurch Cradle of Aviation
Formerly known as the 'The cradle of Kent aviation' Leysdown, located on the Isle of Sheppey was the first place in the UK to attempt powered flying. The wright brothers were the first to fly a powered aircraft in 1903.
The wright brothers then set up a factory to build aircrafts and then became known as the Short brothers, in this factory they had been constructing balloons for the war.
By 1908 the brothers had been constructed to build six wright flyers plus a glider for the Hon. As the year progressed on the brothers had to employ up to 80 craftsmen to continue progressing the aircrafts.
Ferry House Inn
The Ferry House Inn located in Harty, on the Isle of Sheppey is a beautiful 19th Century Country Public House it is alongside the stunning hamlet of Harty.
